It's funny how one full weekend of warm weather can affect my mood so completely. I feel lighter, my mind is free. I don't feel like my loved ones are out to get me. My drain is unclogged, the yard has been cleared of debris, some light weeding has been done. The windows are all open wide. Everything feels right with my world. I have an $8,000 check coming in the mail in the next 2 weeks, I'll have a new shed and an addition to the back deck. I can pay off a portion of my credit card. Every night is a cookout if we want it to be. I am making potato salad in large quantities again. All I want to do is mow the lawn and weedeat, plant flowers. I am making plans for tattoos and shorter hair. My dresses are getting shorter and the days are getting longer. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I just wanna fuck on a blanket in the woods on a warm day.

Anyways, I'll be in Philly in 2 weeks(?) or something. I hope I'm not driving.

Charlie and I had an amazing date night on Friday at The Boot. Josh was an amazing host and even sat and chatted us up over manhattans and sidecars. The food was great as usual.

I had the duck, it was so good. So much for the veg diet.

After that, we went to Colley Cantina, watched Dave Blevins spin some great music and drank a few Modelos. Then we went home and I let Charlie fishhook me. It ruled.

This entry only made me more hungry and regretful of the lunch choices I have at work today(i.e. easy mac).

Adventures in horticulture pt.I

Earlier this spring I attempted to grow cherry tomatoes. It was still chilly out, so I didn't think they would do well if i sat them out on the balcony. I began growing them in a window in my living room. They sprouted quickly and were pretty much my babies. I tended to them twice a day, made sure they were warm, in proper sun, and watered. Then one morning Georgia decided to knock the bucket off the windowsill and that was that. Needless to say I was a bit heartbroken over the whole situation."Remember the time I broke everything you loved?"

So, fast forward to about a month and a half later. I happened to come across a kit for a sensitive plant. I was stoked because if I could tell you what my favorite plant was it would probably be this one. I don't think I can convey in words(this is a total lie, I'm just lazy) what this plant does so I have embedded a video for your viewing pleasure.

I like inanimate objects that I can interact with.Here is a picture of my babies, they are tiny. (Sorry for the shitty photo quality, but you should get used to it.)
I have a bonsai kit I might mess with soon, but I'm not sure how into that I am. I would like to get a planter for the balcony and try and grow a few flowers and maybe something edible. I will update when and if this comes to fruition.

We are doing a meat-free thing right now, so I am thinking of all the delicious vegetarian meals I enjoy. Number 1 right now being Chipotle vegetarian burritos. So tasty. Eggplant parm is close second, as usual. I can't commit to anything, so I'm not expecting it to last. I'm mad flaky.

I haven't blogged in a while. I felt too boring. Maybe I still am. (Who cares?) I have a really bad habit of sleeping on my arms so sometimes when I wake up the joints in my elbows are sore. This is my reality this morning.

I want to start taking pictures of what I wear almost every day. I'm not the most creative dresser, but I always take the time to match my clothing with my shoes, with my makeup, etc. My Easter outfit was dope, I wish I would have documented it. It was all blue and hot pink. Once I start my clothing photo project(if you can call it that) I will wear it again just for evidence.

My hair is dyed so I feel pretty again. I've been really depressed about some weird things lately. I'm hoping I will get closure on them sometime in the near future. But today I feel good about myself. I feel good enough.

Our portrait from the Jamie Stewart solo show at The Boot came out great. This made me feel good, because I was sure I would look like shit, but it is just a great reminder of how much fun we had at that show and how happy I was to be there with Charlie. No one else can appreciate things like this with me but him.

I am at work for the first Thursday in a while. No more working from home, but at least I still have a job. They are moving our department to a new set of cubicles near a window. This makes me immensely happy because where I am at it is always night. I get out early tomorrow and it is pay day. Life is good at this moment.

Last night I made the executive decision to go off my birth control again. Obviously and unfortunately, I have to wait until May when my next shot is due and I will see if they can put me on something else. I have been so crazy the last two months its outrageous. It gets even harder when I try to keep it all to myself so it doesn't affect my loved ones. My short fuse no longer exists, I feel like everyone is creeping behind my back and I am just so sad for absolutely no reason at all. I mean, its spring for god's sake, I should be at the top of my game. But I just feel terribly ugly, boring, irritated and paranoid. Normally, I'm so egotistical nobody can stand to be around me. Just kidding... sort of. I just realized that there is no way in hell I can spend another 3 months feeling like this. It's possible I will go off the deep-end and nobody wants that. I didn't even get the pleasure of the weight gain I was told I would have AND I've been on my period for about a month straight(TMI). Trust me, it gets annoying after a few days let alone an entire month. I have some kind of real or imagined personal turmoil I have to deal with every single day and I am sick of it. The beginning of this year has been utterly taxing and its starting to weigh heavily on me.

So, tomorrow I've basically been with Charlie for an entire year. Although we would both admit to watching each other from afar before that. Normally this wouldn't faze me and if it were someone else I would be looking for a way out of the relationship way before this. But, I have finally met the one person that understands me, the only person that I could put all of my trust into, and a hot best friend I get to wake up next to practically every morning.

The first time we ever hung out was at the Greening of Ghent last year, and it was like something in our brains automatically clicked. It all still feels just as epic and exciting as it did a year ago and I highly doubt you will find two people more happy. I will love this man until the day I die. And I am glad neither of us had to settle for someone that was just "good enough".

Neko Case's "Middle Cyclone" is definitely legit, it will probably be one of my favorite releases of 2009.
I'm currently in the middle of my first listen of Cursive's "Mama, I'm Swollen". I wish I would have never listened to The Good Life because sometimes when I listen to newer Cursive that's what I think of...and I HATE The Good Life. That band is such a snooze-fest and if you like Cursive, please save yourself the heartache. Also, in my opinion, they will never surpass The Ugly Organ. Its in my top 10 favorite albums. I have realized that I can no longer nap, only go to bed early. This is a definite change from not only my past in general but every winter thus far in my life. Sleep has always been a method of escape for me, especially from depression. This has been the biggest change overall in the past year. I talk about it a lot, I think, but believe me when I say its kind of a big deal. Winter is usually a very long black hole. But this one has seemed short and with light at the end of the tunnel the entire way. I never thought it would be like this.

It's been a rough few weeks personally, but Charlie is the best support system in the world. I honestly wouldn't know what to do without him.

I really, really want this. I don't think it has speakers to play music out of, which almost makes it worthless but its so adorable. I guess it just moves to the beat of whatever music you're playing.

Not only is Neko Case releasing a new album in March, but I just got an email saying she was going to be playing in Richmond on April 6th. This is the best news ever! I'm getting tickets today after work.

I am convinced that if I pump my body full of vitamin C and cup o' noodles(chicken flavor), I will get better. I am so fatigued and I wish this cold would just hit me full force already so I can recover. Right now, its just kind of lingering.

I won't have time to rest this weekend, only tons of house work during the day and partying at night.

I need a nap.

Also, I love my new tattoo so much that I already want Shannon to draw me another. I don't know anyone else who can execute my weird, random ideas so flawlessly. <3

I am heartbroken over the discontinuation of Sparks.

January 10th was the last day they were manufactured and stores will sell them until the inventory runs out.

I will be over-indulging myself until then...see you in a drunken stupor!

Weight Gain(who cares??)

Here is my weight gain plan/schedule due to start the beginning of next week:

Weight gaining shake before breakfast, on the way to work
Breakfast
Small snack before lunch
Lunch(I will attempt to eat at a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at least 3 times a week even though I hate them. They helped me gain last time.)
Dinner
Dessert
2nd weight gaining shake just before bed, after 8pm

This is usually rough for me since I generally don't snack and I am a fairly healthy eater. I'll have to opt for higher calorie foods even though I'd rather eat something else.

I'm going to buy a scale beforehand so I can monitor what I gain/lose each day.

I know this probably sounds odd, but the best I have ever felt about myself physically was when I gained about 10lbs. Don't judge me.

I am making banana pancakes from scratch and horchata. I can't wait, I need to get back into baking nonstop again. I am going to attempt to make bread in the near future.

If it is at all possible, I am going to get my laptop. This will be awesome and I'll be able to start taking pictures again because I will have a place to store and edit them.

Also, I want a pair of boots. Really slutty ones.

My beloved ghost necklace that was given to me as a birthday gift by Charlie and lost a week later, was finally found. Its my favorite thing ever and I was heartbroken over its disappearance. Turns out it had just been misplaced in a drunken stupor.
